A switch disconnector, also known as a load break switch, is a type of electrical switch that combines the functions of a stop switch and a load switch. It is commonly used in electrical systems to isolate and interrupt the flow of current in a circuit or device.

A switch disconnector typically consists of a switch mechanism housed in an enclosure. It is designed to be manually operated or remotely controlled. The switch can be opened or closed to either connect or disconnect the circuit from the power source. When the switch is closed, the current flows through the circuit, energizing the connected equipment or devices. Conversely, when the switch is opened, it interrupts the flow of current, effectively disconnecting the circuit.

In addition to the disconnection function, the adapter also works as a load switch. This means that it can carry and stop current loads under normal operating conditions. It is designed to withstand electrical and mechanical stress caused by on/off operation to ensure safe and reliable operation.
